~ Take Steps to Protect Your Wallet ~
  • Limit the amount of confidential information in your wallet
    • Only carry the ID, checks, credit cards and debit/ATM cards you really need
    • Never carry PINs, passwords or your Social Security card

  • Keep backup information about your bank and credit card accounts in a safe place
    • You will need account number and phone numbers should your wallet be stolen
    • Make copies of the front and back of all cards and important notes in your wallet

  • Review credit card bills for fraudulent activity as soon as they arrive

  • If your ATM card is used fraudulently, you can minimize a potential loss by setting limits on the amount that can be withdrawn from your bank account through an ATM in a 24 hour period

  • Periodically check your credit reports
    • You are entitled to one free credit report every 12 months from each credit bureau, Equifax, Experian and TransUnion
    • Go to www.AnnualCreditReport.com or call 877-322-8228
    • To maximize your credit monitoring rotate between reporting agencies every 3 months
