About Autism Autism is a complex and puzzling neurobiological disorder that typically lasts throughout a person's lifetime. It is part of a group of disorders known as autism spectrum disorders (ASD). Today, 1 in 150 individuals is diagnosed with autism, making it more common than pediatric cancer, diabetes, and AIDS combined. Current estimates are that in the United States alone, one out of 94 boys is diagnosed with autism. It occurs in all racial, ethnic, and social groups and is four times more likely to strike boys than girls. A new case is diagnosed every 20 minutes. There is no medical detection or cure for autism. Autism impairs a person's ability to communicate and relate to others. It is also associated with rigid routines and repetitive behaviors, such as obsessively arranging objects or following very specific routines. Symptoms can range from very mild to quite severe.
About Autism Speaks Autism Speaks goal is to change the future for all who struggle with autism spectrum disorders.
They are dedicated to funding global biomedical research into the causes, prevention, treatments, and cure for autism; to raising public awareness about autism and its effects on individuals, families, and society; and to funding grants for communities, and providing resources through its family services initiatives and bringing hope to all who deal with the hardships of this disorder. They are committed to raising the funds necessary to support these goals.
Autism Speaks aims to bring the autism community together as one strong voice to urge the government and private sector to listen to concerns and take action to address this urgent global health crisis. It is their firm belief that, working together, we will find the missing pieces of the puzzle.

The Startling Facts This year alone, over 200,000 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. Every 12 minutes a woman in America dies of breast cancer. (National Breast Cancer Foundation) This year, approximately 40,000 women will die from breast cancer. A National Cancer Institute (NCI) report estimates that about 1 in 8 women in the United States (approximately 13.3 percent) will develop breast cancer during her lifetime.
How It Works Recycle for Breast Cancer is a fundraising program designed to support the fight against breast cancer through the recycling of old cell phones, pagers, and empty ink-jet and toner cartridges. All the net proceeds go to a national breast cancer foundation.
Every company, individual, or home business, uses printers, fax machines, and copiers. Some companies are still throwing away their used cartridges and cell phones. Now, Recycle for Breast Cancer has made recycling and fundraising easy for everyone.
Every year thousands of tons of empty cartridges, fuser cores, and cell phones are improperly disposed of and end up in our nation's landfills. Recycle For Breast Cancer wishes to recover these items and recycle them in an environmentally responsible manner.
These items not only take up valuable space but waste priceless resources too. It is the goal of this program to collect these items and recycle them while raising money for the cause and helping to preserve our planet's natural resources.
As a participant, you collect these items, and box and prepare them for shipping. We will send you a prepaid shipping label. There is no cost to you for shipping.

More than 800,000 children go missing in America each year - that's one child every 40 seconds. The National Child Identification Program is a community service initiative dedicated to changing these statistics by providing parents and guardians with a tool they can use to help protect their children. The I.D. Kit allows parents to collect specific information by easily recording the physical characteristics and fingerprints of their children on identification cards that are then kept at home by the parent or guardian. If ever needed, this I.D. Kit will give authorities vital information to assist their efforts to locate a missing child.
In 1997, the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) created the National Child Identification Program with the goal of fingerprinting 20 million children. In the program's first two years, nearly seven million I.D. Kits were distributed through stadiums, churches and community events. Now, five years later, more than 14 million I.D. Kits have been distributed, making the National Child Identification Program the LARGEST child identification effort ever conducted. The goal of the program now is to reach all 60 million children in the United States.
In December 2001, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) joined in partnership with the AFCA to help increase parents awareness regarding the need to improve child safety. Agents have participated with the AFCA in numerous national, regional and local efforts to explain the problem of missing children and the importance of having a completed Child I.D Kit to provide to law enforcement in the time of need. The FBI has encouraged all 18,000 law enforcement agencies throughout the U.S to participate in the National Child Identification Program.
At Wells Financial Partners, LLC are proud to offer I.D. Kits to our clients.

We are proud to be associated with the Catalogue for Philanthropy, a nonprofit organization in Boston, whose mission is to improve and increase charitable giving in Massachusetts through donor education.
The Catalogue promotes philanthropy by holding up as examples many small and medium-size charities doing excellent work in their fields. Since 1977 it has identified more than 700 such worthwhile charities.
Here is what we do.
From time to time we identify individual clients and families: - Who have been with us for a while
- Who have stayed with us even during the tough down market
- Who have been flexible and willing to embrace new ideas
- Who have been kind enough to refer others to us
- Who are just fun to work with
They receive a letter to let them know that we would like to make a donation to the charity(s) of their choice and ask them to select from the catalogue. Their selections and our check are then sent to the Catalogue. The Catalogue for Philanthropy takes care of distributing the funds. Our client receives a nice certificate. We are proud to display a second certificate in our office.
We encourage you to have a look for yourself. When you are in the area of our office, feel welcome to drop in and pick up your own copy of the Catalogue for Philanthropy. You will be glad you did.
